Hurricane Sandy Recovery Services

Moraghan Engineering, PC (MEPC) is an active participant in the New York Rising Program and is currently in contract with numerous homeowners to secure funding and approvals to elevate, repair and re-construct homes in both Nassau & Suffolk Counties. MEPC is currently engaged to prepare New York Rising 6100 forms and FAR (Feasibility Analysis to Reconstruct) and is at the fore-front of the ever changing Program requirements in the New York Rising Program.

MEPC was also instrumental in assisting homeowners, FEMA, Army Corps of Engineers, and the NYC Department of Buildings during the initial damage assessment phase of rebuilding Breezy Point, NY, immediately after Hurricane Sandy on October 31, 2012, and is available to assist homeowners on an as needed basis to navigate through the Disaster relief programs which are available to homeowners who wish to rebuild or re-construct their homes in NYC, Nassau, and Suffolk Counties.

MEPC has been at the forefront of the design and development of new deep (Helical Pile) and shallow foundation systems, which are compliant with respect to the new FEMA ABFEs in both V-Zone and Coastal A-Zone design categories.

MEPC was the first engineering consulting firm to obtain NYC DOB approvals to lift homes on the Breezy Point peninsula with the new FEMA compliant foundation systems, and is currently in the process of lifting several homes in the area as well.

MEPC has also been instrumental in assisting over 60 homeowners in the Breezy Point and Rockaway communities in obtaining NYC DOB Damage Assessment Reports and Letters of Substantial Damage in an effort to obtain FEMA ICC funding and grant monies.
